Welcome to The Giving Tree Happy Mail Exchange Group 🌳
The Giving Tree Happy Mail Exchange Group (GTHMX) is a private, exclusive community created for those who love exchanging and sharing paper-crafting items with fellow members.
Our Mission
Our mission is to bridge the miles and tear down the walls of “online-only” culture. We strive to offer members meaningful opportunities to connect on a more personal level and to build genuine, lasting friendships in an online space. Our hope is that GTHMX feels like dropping in to meet a friend at your favorite local coffee shop.
While we interact with one another here on Facebook, we also create real-world connections by sending what is lovingly known as “Happy Mail” to one another through USPS Snail Mail.
What We Exchange
Happy Mail often includes items such as scrapbook paper, card-making supplies, embellishments, die cuts, stickers, and more. We offer at least two optional events each month where members can create and send to one another as a way to connect, share creativity, and build friendships.
Participation & Commitment
Participation is required to maintain membership. This includes:
- Being present and engaged on our Facebook page (liking, commenting, and posting), and
- Actively participating in the exchange of Happy Mail.

I like to think of GTHMX this way: we are a group of members who use a Facebook page — the page is simply the avenue through which we connect. At our core, we are real people with a real purpose, not just profile photos passing by in a feed.
Joining The Giving Tree Happy Mail Exchange Group is a commitment. It is an agreement to engage with fellow members and to exchange Happy Mail in a meaningful and respectful way. Please keep in mind that sending Happy Mail involves both a financial cost and a commitment of time and energy.
All items exchanged are paid for by fellow members. GTHMX is not a business, and all Happy Mail is sent out of pocket by members who give generously of themselves.
Our Culture
The Giving Tree is a place to meet new friends and to stay connected with those you’ve bonded with over time. Our culture is rooted in generosity, kindness, and mutual support — giving not just things, but encouragement, creativity, and care.
This is a place to find friendship, inspiration, support, and a kind word after a long day — and to offer the same to others.
